DVF for Gap kids!

Once you try on a Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dress you never go back! No joke. The classic wrap dress is her trademark, her whole empire was built off this one idea of the perfect wrap dress. She's known for all her original and inspiring prints as she refreshes her wrap dresses season after season but it's the quality and fit that will have you coming back. Needless to say I was excited to hear that there is a DVF line for Gap Kids coming out at the end of the month for newborns to 14 years of age. From the advertising it looks like it will be a girls only collection which does makes sense seeing as she only designs for women. Now if only I had a little girl to buy this adorable collection for!

I was hoping they would be selling the collection online but it looks like it will only be in select stores across Canada. Luckily the Montreal Eaton Center store is one of them. See below for list of select stores.

If you have any little girls to shop for this season I definitely recommend trying to get your hands on a few DVF for Gap Kids pieces! They and their fashion savvy mommies will be very pleased to receive this gift!

A dress for a wedding...

Finding a dress for a wedding...Sounds simple right? Spring is upon us and there are millions of beautiful dresses just waiting for an excuse to be bought and worn! With a May wedding coming up I have the perfect excuse to run out and splurge on one! Trouble is I'll be nearing the end of my second trimester by then...how do you plan for that? It's hard to tell how big I'll be but I don't want to wait until the last minute to try and find something!

As Yolanda S. has previously posted last week, finding on trend & quality maternity pieces at an affordable price is not so easy! Luckily in Montreal we have H&M and some of their stores do carry a maternity line. It's not a big collection and the good items go quickly so you need to go often. Unfortunately they don't really carry special occasion pieces.

I've been looking online and I'm starting to consider regular sized dresses in more forgiving shapes (and maybe a size up from my usual if necessary?).

I found these dresses at BCBG. They would need some serious neck and/or wrist jewelry to dress them up (as well as a great pair of heels) but one of these might just do the trick:

I love shopping online for all kinds of items (household/decor items, gifts, books, shoes or other accessories) but I find clothing the hardest as all brands have different sizing scales. Add to that my growing belly and this becomes quite a gamble....If anyone knows of a store that sells special occasion maternity dresses in Montreal I'd love to hear about it. In the meantime my online search continues!

I swear by this product!: Michael Kors zip around wallet

This wallet was gifted to me last Christmas by my sister-in-law and I must say I love it!

The zip around means that everything stays safe in my wallet even when it's thrown around in my "bottomless pit of a handbag". You can just grab it and go when you don't want to lug your whole life with you and there's a great center section that fits your Iphone when you need everything in one place.

The cons? No zip pocket for change (but who carries change these days anyways?) and you need to take your Iphone case off in order to fit the Iphone in the Iphone pocket. Otherwise I think it's a great versatile piece and the perfect gift for the woman in your life. Check out the site here as it comes in many different colors and fabrics/prints.

Friday Fabulous Finds: Zara for kids

Ok I live in everything and anything Zara. I-am-obsessed. I've tried to shop elsewhere, I really have! With little time to spare, a budget that does not go on forever and making a living working in fashion; I know what I want and Zara ALWAYS has it at the right time and at a fair price. It's like the wonderful people at Zara read my mind.

So when we had our little man I was sooo excited to dress him in Zara for kids. A little expensive for clothing he will grow out of sooner than later yes but if you choose wisely and invest in items they will get a lot of wear out of like coats, jeans with stretchy elastic band waists or adorable Fall booties...(yes my son has all three items mentioned BUT 2 out of 3 were gifted to him :)) Absolutely worth it when you see them dressed so adorably! Check out their latest look books...I mean come on!

With all these options my little man will definitely be decked out for the holidays! Watch out little ladies ;)!

My only complaint is the girls section is like 100 times bigger than the boys but I've learned to accept this as it seems to be the trend everywhere...Girls ARE so fun to dress up!
